Change CATIA environment with desktop shortcuts

By customizing your CATIA environment settings, you can switch between different settings for different projects or purposes. For example, it is useful to set up separate environments for design, analysis, review, etc.

1.  Right-click on the CATIA launch shortcut on your desktop. Select “Copy” and paste it on your desktop to duplicate it.
Rename the shortcut to something more meaningful (e.g. “CATIA_Analysis”).

2: Right-click the duplicated shortcut and select “Properties”, Edit the “Target” field. For example, add “-env” and “-direnv” as shown below.
For example, add “-env” and “-direnv” as shown below.

“C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B28\intel_a\code\bin\CATSTART.exe” -run “CNEXT.exe” -env MyCustomEnv -direnv “C:\CATIA_Environments\”
-env: Specify the environment name to use.
-direnv: Specify the path to the environment folder.

3: Create a folder for the new environment (e.g. C:\CATIA_Environments\).
Copy any configuration files you need (e.g. CATSettings) from your existing preferences folder and save them in this folder.

4: Double-click the edited shortcut to launch CATIA. Verify that the new preferences are applied.
